Triggered Thoughts by Cory...

RE: Two Questions

What do I believe? that Whataburger brought back the honey bbq chicken strip sandwich! Amen.

What am I doing? eating one. and not sharing.

I also believe there is more out there for people than what is presented to people. This goes for pretty much all areas of life. So many times we take the first thing that is told to us, and make it our own belief and never question it. I think this is so wrong! That first "impression" could be "right/good" but there also might be something better. We may not be able to ever fully research every thing we encounter in life, but we should try. I'm not saying that we should never have faith or trust anyone, but asking questions and seeking wisdom and understanding is also good.
Take finances for one... I have met with so many people that think their current financial "plan" is solid; although 99.9% of the people I talk to have NO financial education at all. How could they possibly know? So, thru Primerica (the company I work for), we offer to do a Financial Needs Analysis (FNA... hehe... everytime I say that, I think of Office Space). This FNA shows them where they are currently, and then shows them how they can reach their goals and dreams. On top of that, its FREE! no catch what-so-ever. After offering to do this for their family, I assumed that EVERYONE of them would be retarded not to do it. What do you have to lose? but no, MANY of them turn it down. I've come to learn that there are many reasons why, its not just b/c they are retarded. It could be b/c they are embarassed or maybe just a bit to hard-headed (usually the guys). So, if you know anyone in Abilene that could use some financial "coaching", have them give me a call/email.

I would also recommend doing a "double check" on your religious beliefs, too. Do you believe things b/c you researched them in the Bible, or is it b/c that was how you were raised, and some rule in the church by-laws says that's a no-no.

Develop who YOU really are, and then Be Yourself.

All in a days work...

Well, I slept till 11:35. Checked my everyday sites: blogger, MacNN, MySpace, Speak of the Bevill Blog, Titan Talk, Primerica Online, Cory's Blog, Truck Blog, and Nation States. Then, I ate some lunch/breakfast (brunch, lunfast): hotdogs cooked on the grill. These of course have the black lines on them, which makes them taste much better. I deviated from my normal hotdog masterpiece. Normally, I have a slightly toasted bun, then add grated cheddar cheese in the bottom of the bun, then add the "bun-length" hotdog, straight or curvy line of mustard on top; chili optional (if used, only 2 spoonfuls; chili cannot run off the hotdog, must still be able to pick up and eat). BUT, today, I had slightly "heated" buns, mozarella cheese, non-bun-length hotdogs, and no chili. They (meaning all 3 I made) were very tastey (yes, I know the word is spelled: tasty... but I think there should be an "e"... don't get me started on this, again!). Then, I played "Dead to Rights" on X-Box. I flew a helicopter, shot a machine gun, killed some psycho clowns, saved a hooker, rescued the mayor from a burning building, and shot up 3 limo's (all in the video game; I don't "normally" do those things in real life). Then, Jennifer and I went to get her hair cut, went to Target (AND DIDN'T BUY ANYTHING!!), went to Lowe's (and spent less than $20!). Then we came home and got our 2 dogs, went to PetSmart, and bought Daisy a collar for her birthday. Daisy's birthday is on Valentines Day. After that, we went to the park for a good game of "dang its cold and windy, hurry up and catch the frisbee so we can go home" (very popular game here in Abilene). I then took care of some monetary issues w/in my new nation: Holy Repulic of Harrolldean (www.nationstates.net). At some point today, we (Jennifer and I) went to Sam's Club and bought a roll of butcher paper. We brought it home, and I cut out sheets to make targets to take to the gun range tomorrow. I have all kinds of targets: circles, circles w/ numbers in them, circles w/ more circles around them, circles w/ faces drawn on them, circles w/ a rhino behind them, and the microsoft windows logo. Well, now I am typing in my blog, obviously! And in a few minutes, I am going to heat up some left over funeral food, and go to bed.

Holy Republic of Harrolldean...

Well, thru the help of the internet, I have now created my own nation: The Holy Republic of Harrolldean. You can check us out at www.nationstates.net. Pretty cool. We'll see how long I keep this up. I have a feeling my nation will be a ghost-nation in less than a month.

Leaders Set The Tone...

Have a sense of urgency.
Now is the time to get things done.
Do as much as possible, today; right now.
Try to see how much you can get done today, then look back over a week (or month) and you'll be amazed at how much was done; probably more than you ever thought possible.
Don't get in the trap of saying, "I'll do it tomorrow"... do it RIGHT NOW.
Why wait? Your competition isn't waiting.

RE: Weekly Wednesday

only thing this triggered was a very short clip from an old Petra song, or maybe it was a tile of a Petra song "psycho babel rock on"... or something like that. hehe.

Go awesome 80's christian hair bands!

RE: Road Laxatives and an Angry Society

one time it took me 13 minutes to get to work.
i don't say that to rub salt in your LA traffic wounds, but i say that to agree w/ you. how? well, it made me mad that it took so long. i think we have to keep thinkgs in perspective. i listened to some john maxwell the other day, and he told this story, "a girl wrote to her mother about troubles since going off to school... she dropped out of college, married a man she met in a bar, got pregnant, getting married then coming back home to live w/ parents, etc, etc... then she went on to say, none of the previous was true, but that she did have a "D" in geometry, and was failing calculus and she wanted her mom that she wanted to accept theses grades in their proper perspective." I found this very amusing, since i wrote a similar letter in middle school at some point. Well, keep things in perpective, be a problem spotter not just a problem spotter, and don't ever let go of humor.

Challenge for the day: try and have a "near-life" experience today (not a "near-death" experience).

2008 Titan is here (almost)...

Well, the new upgrades have been unveiled! It will hit all stores in North America in Spring 2007. I will be the first in line to test drive these badboys, but I think I'll let the salesman park that long thing. Here are some pics:
